Constance Anne
Constance Anne is an artist based in London UK, her artwork celebrates people and personalties. She shows how things that are perhaps ‘odd’ or ‘weird’ can also be beautifully interesting. To celebrate the beauty of human quirks.

Her faces - whimsical, statuesque, and enigmatic - challenge what we call "normal." Each carries a distinct energy, a mood between joy and melancholy. Constance Anne draws inspiration from the rhythm of human diversity.

Her work looks at the diversities and similarities we all have, life experiences, colour, expressions and feelings that make us who we are. Her paintings are distinctive, distorted, enigmatic, figurative portraits with whimsical expressions developed to question whether they are happy/ sad or both.
Constance blends expressive marks with geometric form to capture the essence of a personality. Her figures are intentionally distorted, yet they radiate emotion and elegance — asking whether beauty and strangeness are truly opposites.

There is a focus on the face in a way that plays on facial proportions, and the body displays physically ’odd’ and statuesque lines. The eccentricity of the features questions what is considered “beautiful” or “normal.”

They display both vibrant and muted colour palettes, structure and form and each have symbolic swirls that accentuate her characters’ cheekbones. Constance’s art challenges societal norms while fostering inclusivity and self-acceptance. Each face has a different personality.

Her expressive brushwork reveals how what we call
"odd" or "weird" can, in fact, be deeply beautiful. Each piece captures the poetry of imperfection — a visual ode to individuality. She paints figures that are stretched, elongated, and alive with personality. Her signature swirls trace cheekbones like secret symbols, turning every portrait into a story of quirks, emotions, and hidden beauty.
Working with acrylic, oil, and ink, she blends geometry with expressive marks - balancing structure and vulnerability. Her art celebrates the imperfect, the unusual, the wonderfully human.

Her signatures can be found in two forms: in focus (emphasis on the face) or in perspective (figures are more posed, in context or referencing a story or feeling). Shape, lines and geometric marks are another key element of her paintings.

Constance grew up in Liverpool Merseyside in the UK (home to The Beatles) where she takes great inspiration. She is half Welsh and day to day she goes by the name Connie.

Constance is currently based in London and is exhibiting throughout the Uk.
